2012 Mayan Sacred Tree

The Mayan civilization were amazing timekeepers and astronomers and devised a calandar that ends in our year 2012 in December. The Mayans believed this to be The unveiling of the Sacred Tree and thought the pathway to the underworld opened at this date.Regardless of what happens we should be in for an occurence of astronomical proportions. It is important to remember that their calandar was cyclical and this date was not the end of time but a new beginning.
